Give Malaysia anti-graft agency more bite, MPs told
Anti-graft group Centre to Combat Corruption and Cronyism (C4) is lobbying for parliamentarians to enhance the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) enforcement rights. C4 recommends amending sections of the law that currently limits graft busters from investigating those with suspicious wealth. Other recommendations included setting up an independent legal services commission to ensure investigations are done transparently and protected tenure for the chief commissioner’s job.
