Break the Corruption Chain - Pakistan. On International Anti-corruption Day, H.E. President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, presided over an anti-corruption conference organised by the National Accountability Bureau. Other activities included a week-long of branding in collaboration with UNDP and the National Accountability Bureau. Informative radio shows and TV interviews were organised in which panellists spoke about the importance of implementing UNCAC. Fiji youth plays a vital role in corruption fight. About 70 people attended the Anti-Corruption Day celebration at Sukuna Park in Suva on International Anti-Corruption Day, hosted by the Youths for Integrity (YFI). Guest speaker and United Nations anti-corruption adviser Annika Wythes said people needed to raise more awareness and speak out against corruption. Devt partners call to combat corruption in Nepal. A joint statement by Nepal's development partners on International Anti-Corruption Day underscored their common purpose to help the Government of Nepal tackle the issue of corruption at multiple fronts. Norway, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, and Finland along with Britain’s DFID Nepal, Japan’s JICA, and international organisations like the Asian Development Bank and UN through its resident coordinator’s office supported the statement. Petty graft eats up 2.2% of GNI in Bangladesh. Bangladesh loses 2.2 per cent of its gross national income due to petty corruptions at individual level, according to Transparency International Bangladesh executive director Dr Iftekharuzzaman. Speaking at a programme arranged by UNDP in Bangladesh to mark International Anti-Corruption Day, he hoped that the young people will take a stand against these practices. Discussion on “Controlling Corruption in Mongolia”. In recognition of International Anti-Corruption Day, two U.S. nonprofit organizations -- the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Endowment for Democracy -- cohosted a discussion on combating corruption in Mongolia. During the discussion, IRI also released its Vulnerabilities to Corruption Assessment Report, which details technical findings from a corruption assessment in Ulaanbaatar in June 2014. World Anti-corruption Day celebrated with ceremonies, stickers in Indonesia. In the celebration of International Anti-Corruption Day, the Surabaya prosecutor’s office staged a peaceful rally in which they distributed thousands of flowers and stickers emblazoned with the message: “For an Indonesia of integrity, don’t feed your family with corruption money”. The office’s head of intelligence division, Sri Koentjoro, said the rally was aimed encouraging citizens to avoid corruption. Viet Nam authorities to protect citizens who stand up in fight against corruption. Viet Nam would further protect whistleblowers and provide more incentives for them to come forward to increase the public's trust, said Huynh Phong Tranh, head of the Government Inspectorate, during a forum on preventing and fighting corruption to celebrate International Anti-Corruption Day. Legislation protecting whistleblowers can be one of the most effective tools in that fight, Zhuldyz Akisheva, country director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, said at the event. United Nations urges “the dismantling of corruption's high walls”.
