[ap-intact] INFO: Sri Lanka to appoint a Special Commission to probe large-scale corruption

President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday [9 Feb] said that he would appoint a special Presidential Commission this week to probe the large-scale frauds and corruption that have allegedly taken place in the past few years. Addressing a public meeting held at the Aralaganvila market complex in his hometown, Polonnaruwa, President Sirisena said the commission would be assigned to investigate any individual accused of corruption regardless of their positions or political affiliations.
