Accountability and the Law: safeguarding against corruption in Queensland is a one-day conference that will examine issues of accountability and transparency in Queensland.

The conference will begin with a keynote address by the Honourable David Ipp AO QC on ‘Coal and Corruption – the ICAC experience’ followed by the following four sessions:

- A law reform response for Queensland

- Queensland case studies – accountability in the resource assessment process

- Integrity institutions and their independence – safeguarding the integrity and independence of Queensland’s institutions

- Managing political influence – lobbying and political donations

Each session will take the form of a roundtable and include presentations by invited speakers in the field. The conference will end with a panel discussion of invited speakers including the Honourable David Ipp AO QC and Dr David Solomon who will address the question ‘Can we legislate for accountability?’
