Vietnam to enhance corruption fight in next six months

Vietnam’s Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption has proposed establishing four working teams to look into notorious graft scandals in 8 localities in the remaining months of the year. It will examine corruption prevention and control in a number of centrally-run agencies and organisations, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam Social Insurance, Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The tasks were unveiled at the committee’s meeting in Hanoi on July 9 to review corruption prevention in the first six months of the year, and set orientations in the second half.
