Anti-corruption studies to be part of curriculum in Indian universities

India's University Grants Commission, which sets standards in institutions of higher education in the country, has asked all universities to include anti-corruption studies in the curriculum of subjects such as law, public administration, and human rights to “combat corruption” in every form.  A circular to this effect was sent out by the UGC to all universities on May 29, three days after the new government took charge. The letter says the Indian government is actively participating in the activities of the Austria-based International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), which offers a postgraduate programme in anti-corruption studies, besides several other training modules.
