New team seen curbing corruption in Philippines

The American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (Amcham) has lauded the creation of an Investment Ombudsman Team (IOT), which is critical in ensuring and enhancing the integrity of the local business environment. In a statement, it noted that the team, which was put in place last month, was a concrete manifestation of the sincerity of the Aquino administration to pin down corruption in the conduct of business, encourage foreign investments and improve global competitiveness rankings.
