Myanmar to take action against bribery and corruption of teachers

In Myanmar, authorities promised to take action against bribery and corruption complaints against teachers, while an investigation will be launched to ensure that students are fairly treated, Dr Yin Yin Nwe, leader of the education board said. Children from poor families are the most likely to suffer from teachers’ misconduct, she said, pointing to the practice of teachers giving better grades to students who can afford to pay to enroll in their private classes.
