Corruption can be beaten: Gordon hails conviction of BI execs in P50 M extortion case.  “[Philippines Senator Richard Gordon] made the remark after the Sandiganbayan convicted two former senior officials of the Bureau of Immigration and a businessman on separate charges of plunder and graft for extorting P50 million [approx. US$1 million] from Chinese gaming tycoon Jack Lam five years ago.”

NAB chief directs all regional bureaus ‘Utilise all resources for concluding white-collar mega corruption cases’.  “[Pakistan’s] Chairman National Accountability Bureau's Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has directed all regional bureaus of NAB to utilise all available resources for concluding white-collar mega corruption cases as per law. ‘Out of 179 mega corruption cases, 63 such cases have been concluded by various accountability courts due to vigorous prosecution of NAB whereas 95 mega corruption cases are still under trial’”
