A call for anti-corruption efforts to be better targeted
[Facilitator's note: Thank you to Luisa Senibulu, Governance Programme Associate, UNDP Pacific Centre, for sharing this information.]
The UNDP and UN Office on Drugs and Crime were at the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) 2014 conference to propose a tailored, sustainable approach to anti-corruption in Small Island Developing States. Part of that is getting Pacific nations to sign on to the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) and implementing it in the most effective way for the Pacific. Their main aim is to get the conversation about anti-corruption started between stakeholders at all levels. UNDP Anti-Corruption Specialist Tony Prescott says he was met with a positive reception at SIDS.
