PAPUA NEW GUINEA:  

Australia’s rescue package for PNG must tackle much deeper problems Australia needs to toughen up its approach to corruption, and especially the abuse of public money, which remain inadequately addressed by Prime Minister James Marape’s government, despite encouraging assurances. 

 

  

SOLOMON ISLANDS:  

Machetes in hand, women join forces to fight logging in Solomon Islands Despite such concerns, there is little political will to tackle the problem, and corruption is endemic in the industry, according to Ruth Liloqula, executive director of watchdog Transparency Solomon Islands.
