How Will the Coronavirus Reshape Democracy and Governance Globally? “Corruption undermines the effectiveness of public health responses, particularly if valuable resources are diverted from high-need areas or citizens are denied treatment if they refuse to pay bribes. (…) However, the crisis could also end up spurring new anticorruption measures.
