COOK ISLANDS:

Former MP appeals sentence.  Defence lawyers acting for the former Cook Islands minister of Marine Resources Teina Bishop have filed an appeal against his prison sentence and conviction in the High Court.

TONGA:

Tonga moving forward with anti-corruption efforts.  Tonga's parliament is moving ahead with the appointment of an Anti-Corruption Commission and a Commissioner.

FIJI:

NGO calls for domestic election observers in future Fiji elections.  A renewed push is on in Fiji for the government to allow domestic observers to monitor the 2018 elections.
