SDGs linked to political,
parliamentary stability. Melanesian countries
must recognise that the development and achievement of Sustainable Development
Goals (SDG) are linked to political and parliamentary stability, says Speaker
of the House Dr Jiko Luveni.
UNDP fosters political development. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has invested in
various governance programs to help regional countries foster positive
political development, said UNDP Asia Pacific regional director Haoliang Xu
during a discussion with Melanesian leaders, academics and developing partners.
PNG:
PNG Dropped from
anti-money-laundering blacklist.
The international
anti-money-laundering standards agency, the Financial Action Task Force, has
removed Papua New Guinea from its blacklist.
Governor convicted of
contempt. The Papua New Guinea Supreme Court
in Port Moresby has found the Eastern Highlands governor, Julie Soso, guilty of
