New Corruption Index - South Africa - Zimbabwe

The European Centre for Anti-Corruption and State-Building (ERCAS) introduces a new corruption index (www.corruptionrisk.org) including Corruption Risk Forecast (CRF). "Altogether, the CRF provides a broad-based and nuanced understanding of how 120 countries (with adequate data) manage — or don't manage — corruption."

"The country has a chance to co-ordinate between its key institutions in order to reduce procurement risks, identify conflicts of interest, draw on emerging best practice, and tackle the grievous ways opacity of company ownership has been exploited against the public interest."

Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission vows to recover ill-gotten wealth even after jail. "The importance of asset recovery in the fight against such crimes cannot be overemphasized. Criminals and their networks should not be left to enjoy the proceeds of crime while in person or after serving their sentences."
